weavid is an ambitious undertaking to build a social video platform that puts users, creators, and transparency first. Currently in development by a solo founder, this project represents a commitment to doing things differently in the social media space.

When will weavid officially launch?
We don't have an exact date for either a soft or hard launch. As a solo developer personally funding this project, we're prioritizing building the platform correctly over rushing to market. Early access participants will be among the first to know as we approach launch readiness.
Why is development taking time?
weavid is being built from the ground up with security, privacy, and scalability in mind. Rather than launching quickly with a minimum viable product, we're taking the time to implement proper encryption, database architecture, and user protection features. Quality takes time, especially when built by a small team.
Features & Development
Will all listed features be available at launch?
No. Many features we've outlined represent our long-term vision for the platform. We're rolling out functionality in phases, starting with core social features and expanding as the platform matures. Not all features will be available during early access or even at initial public launch.
What can I expect during early access?
Early access will focus on core functionality: video sharing, user profiles, basic social interactions, and community building. Advanced features like content verification, specialized account types, and monetization tools will be added in future phases as we have the resources to implement them properly.
Funding & Monetization
How is weavid funded?
Currently, weavid is being personally funded. We're preparing a crowdfunding campaign to help accelerate development and expand the team. Since we are still building the platform, monetization strategies and revenue models are future considerations that will be addressed once core functionality is stable.
Will there be ads?
At this time, we have not discussed or considered running ads in the app. Given the current stage of development, that is not something we are focusing on.
Will weavid need investors or sell out to big tech?
Our goal is to remain independent and community-focused. Crowdfunding allows us to scale without sacrificing our values or user privacy. We're building this FOR users, not FOR advertisers.
Will weavid become another ad-filled platform like TikTok/Instagram?
That's not the vision. We're exploring sustainable models that prioritize user experience and creator support over intrusive advertising. Specific details will be shared as we finalize our approach, but user trust and platform integrity are non-negotiable.
What makes weavid different?

Can businesses create accounts?
During early access, we're focused exclusively on individual creators and personal accounts. We're concentrating on core functionality and community feedback at this stage.
Can politicians use weavid?
Public officials are welcome to use weavid for personal purposes. However, we ask that political campaigning and official political activities remain off-platform during the testing phase while we focus on refining core features.
Language & Global Access
What languages will weavid support?
Currently, the main focus is development around English. Other languages may be added as things progress and funding allows. We want global engagement, but are scaling slowly because of limited resources. Translation, localization, and international support require significant investment that we'll pursue as the platform grows.
Will weavid work in my country?
During early access, the platform is available globally, but content, support, and features are primarily focused on English-speaking users. As we expand, we'll work to accommodate more regions and languages.

Who's building weavid?

How do I report bugs or issues?
During early access, please use the in-app reporting feature or contact us directly. As a small operation, response times may vary, but all feedback is reviewed and appreciated.
What if the platform shuts down or runs out of funding?
We're building weavid to last. That said, early access users should understand this is a startup in development. While we're committed to seeing this through, there are inherent risks in any new platform. We'll always be transparent about the project's status.
Privacy & Security
Is my data safe?
Absolutely. Despite being early in development, we've prioritized security from day one. User data is encrypted, stored in GDPR-compliant infrastructure in Germany, and designed with privacy-first principles. We're building security IN, not bolting it on later.
Who has access to my information?
Currently, only the developer has backend access, and that access is strictly limited and logged. As we grow the team, we'll implement role-based access controls ensuring the minimum number of people can access user data, and only for legitimate operational reasons.

Will early access users get special perks?
While we haven't fully settled on anything yet, as we prepare to launch a crowdfunding project to help continue this development, we want to reward those who see the vision and want to support our goals.
